Acer announces two Chromebooks with ARM chips
Acer announcements didn't end with CES 2021 in Las Vegas. The Taiwanese manufacturer has in fact announced four Chromebooks for the education sector, two of which integrate ARM processors. All of them have received MIL-STD-810H certification, so they can easily stand in the hands of students.

Acer Chromebook 311 and 511 with ARM chip

The Chromebook 311 and 511 have a chassis made of plastic that can withstand drops and a keyboard that works even if water is poured (up to 33oml). Both have an 11-inch screen (optional touch for Chromebook 311). The main difference is represented by the processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c with integrated LTE modem for Chromebook 511 and MediaTek MT8183 for Chromebook 311.



Acer promises an autonomy of up to 20 hours. The operating system is obviously Chrome OS, so you can install Android apps as well. The two Chromebooks will arrive in Europe in March. The basic prices are 269 euros (Chromebook 311) and 399 euros (Chromebook 511).



Acer Chromebook Spin 511 and 512 with Intel chip

The Chromebook Spin 511 and 512 are convertible, so the screen can rotate up to 360 degrees. Both have a drop resistant frame (MIL-STD-810H certification). The Chromebook Spin 511 has an 11.6-inch touch display with HD resolution and 16: 9 aspect ratio.



The Chromebook Spin 512 has a 12-inch touch display with HD + resolution and 3: 2 aspect ratio. Various configurations are available with Intel Pentium Silver and Celeron processors, up to 8 GB of RAM, eMMC storage up to 64 GB, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, two USB Type-C ports and two USB Type-A ports. br>


They will arrive in Europe in March. Base prices are 369 euros (Chromebook Spin 511) and 399 euros (Chromebook Spin 512).
