Cyberpunk 2077: Sony reimburses PS4 and PS5 players

Cyberpunk 2077 is a very ambitious game, to the point of being advertised by some as "the game of the generation". Since 2012 the general public has been waiting for the result of the hard work of CD Projekt RED, also presented during various important events. All of this created a very high expectation in fans, especially after the great success of The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. And after years of waiting and numerous postponements, Cyberpunk 2077 finally arrives on December 10th.

The specialized press has given the title of the Polish company high marks, considering Cyberpunk 2077 one of the best Action-RPGs ever, to the point to think that it will have a lot to say in the coming years - we explain it to you in more depth in our review. However, the enormous potential of the game has run into the numerous technical problems that Cyberpunk presents: a flood of bugs, sudden crashes and other problems that have plagued fans, many of whom have asked for a refund.

Considering PS4 and PS5 players, Sony doesn't have a full refund policy on the PlayStation Store, and this has been a sore point for fans for years. However, it is known that it can reimburse players in exceptional circumstances and it appears that what is happening with Cyberpunk 2077 meets these criteria. A user on Reddit, NotBen_2, reports that many have sought a refund, disappointed by Cyberpunk's performance, including himself. "I had to submit an online support request and wait more than an hour to speak to someone, however they were quick to issue the refund and then delete the game from my library. The lady I spoke to, Carly, also said that Sony is filing a commercial complaint with CDPR regarding the problems and that I was not the first to call today for a refund, "user NotBen_2 explains.

If patch 1.04 seems to have improved several aspects of Cyberpunk 2077, there seems to be a long way to go. We hope that CD Projekt Red will continue to improve the experience offered with Cyberpunk 2077. However, if the technical problems that the game presents are so heartbreaking for the user who bought the game from the PS Store, the refund option provided by Sony could be a solution.
