PS5, transfer of games to external hard drive is not yet supported
The transfer of games to an external hard drive is not yet supported on PS5: Sony specified this in an official note.
The limitation, which also applies to PS4 titles, prevents you from resorting to data transfer at the moment to lighten the load of the SSD of the new console, which as we know should have an effective capacity of 667 GB.
Indeed in yesterday's video tutorials a specific procedure was shown, with the transfer of games from PS4 to an external hard drive that was then connected to the PlayStation 5.
The reverse operation, that is to transfer PS5 or PS4 games from the memory of the new Sony console to an external hard drive, for use in backwards compatibility or simply as temporary measure to free up space, it is therefore not available at the moment.
It will certainly be in the future, this is clear: the Japanese company will release system updates that will add these and other functions ality, but it is not yet known when.
