PS5: Sony won't include the HDMI 2.1 cable in the box?
With small tastes we are enjoying the world linked to PS5, the first unboxing and the first contacts with the console face to face. After a long wait, being able to admire the new generation console beyond the advertising images is always very exciting, but in the excitement the eye is always alert, to the point of noting the possibility that the HDMI 2.1 cable is missing in the PS5 package. , supported by next-gen consoles, capable of displaying 4K and 120Hz on suitable panels. Why omit it, can we really do without it?

We've always been told that the HDMI 2.1 cable supported by next-gen consoles will allow us to get the most out of them. Yet, from a video published by Digital Foundry, the cable shown indicates the High Speed wording typical of HDMI 2.0 cables and not Ultra High Speed of 2.1. In this regard, we recall that Christopher Mullins, product manager of Sony Digital & Home Cinema, stated that according to his opinion the current screens do not need an HDMI 2.1 to make us enjoy games on PS5 to the fullest and that although the latter and Xbox Series X are capable of supporting 4K / 120Hz or 8K / 60Hz, not many games will support these features from launch. That's why he believes these features will surely become more useful later in the PS5 life cycle. But would that really justify such a possibility?

According to Christopher Mullins, we should work first on the innovation of the television market - also thinking that the widespread and widely used Android operating system is not even optimized for televisions. Surely, buying a TV with an HDMI 2.1 port is the smartest purchase to make in the long term. All this, however, could create a bit of confusion for users, considering that in the PS5 package it is clearly written that the console will support 4K / 120Hz or 8K / 60Hz, but the cable that supports it would be missing in the package. br>
At this point, however, a question arises: why does the Xbox Series X package include it and PS5 not? Let us know what you think in the comment box.
