Big Sur is the evolution of macOS coming to Mac line computers. As this is the first version of the operating system created for the hardware designed internally by Apple (the M1 chip), it enjoys a series of optimizations related to performance and consumption reduction.

As known, on Macs with ARM architecture it will be able to support the execution of mobile applications written for iPhone and iPad. The software portfolio made available to users is thus considerably expanded. The Cupertino group assures that this will not entail any additional workload for the developers.
