Lucca Changes: Not the End by Fumble GDR is the Role-playing Game of the Year 2020!
Not the End is an Italian production of the game designer Claudio Pustorino, a game without a specific setting that leaves everyone the players, including the narrator, have full freedom in creating the narrative context in which to set their adventures. The game is strongly based on narration, with a system that encourages all participants to collaborate in the collective narrative. At the base of the game mechanism is risk management: players voluntarily expose their characters to risky situations with the aim of obtaining important benefits. However, the misfortunes and troubles that ensue will change the heroes forever, changing their personality and the values they believe in. The game system chosen uses tokens randomly extracted from a bag, instead of the classic dice.

The Jury for the Role Play of the Year, chaired by Paolo Cupola, is made up of Mirella Vicini (vice president), Giovanni Bacaro, Michele Bellone, Luca Bonora, Marzia Possenti and Daniele Prisco. The title of Fumble RPG was appreciated for the originality of the game system, for its elegant immediacy, which makes it suitable even for novice players, and for its ability to build - with great freedom on the part of the participants - deep and intense stories. Not the End represented, during the lockdown last March, also one of the best games to be played on platforms such as Discord, thanks to a bot for the management of the aforementioned bag, which the guys of Fumble GDR have developed and made available for free in record time.
If you want to know more about the game, Sunday 1 November at 5 pm the guys from D20 Nation, a RPG group and YouTube channel dedicated to RPGs, with game sessions, tutorials and insights, will be the protagonists of a special online session of Not the End, winner of the Role Game of the Year 2020, with Claudio Pustorino, author of the game and member of Fumble GDR, to lead the session in streaming on the YouTube channel of Lucca Comics & Games and on the Lucca Changes website. In addition, the game was the protagonist of an episode of the Summer Tales - Roleplaying Game of the Year show, visible on the Lucca Comics & Games YouTube channel.
In this particular year which, however, has seen an increase in number of publishers entered in the competition, Lucca Crea and the Award Jury thank all the publishers who have decided to participate and wish the finalists good luck.
