Hearthstone: Madness at the Darkmoon Faire, preview of the new expansion
Madness at the Darkmoon Faire will be the name of the new Hearthstone expansion, with which the card game created by Blizzard will close its 2020. After Ashes of Outlands and Scholomance Academy, Team 5 working on the project has decided to tap into the World of Warcraft setting again, this time introducing the Darkmoon Traveling Fair. In addition to giving life to new decks with the cards that will arrive in the standard format, Madness at the Darkmoon Fair presents itself with other interesting innovations, destined to continue the Hearthstone modernization work announced at the opening of the Year of the Phoenix in which we find ourselves. After the arrival of the Demon Hunter and the changes to the climb to the legend level, this year's closure will bring changes outside the main game format, making Madness at the Darkmoon Faire an interesting appointment for all fans of Hearthstone. In short, with Christmas approaching, the tavern promises to warm us even more with its fire: let's see how it intends to do it.
There are still many cards to be discovered for now, so much of these features remain shrouded in mystery. What we do know, however, is that on the keyword front we will get to know the dynamics of the new Corruption. Cards with this feature can be upgraded when they are still in our hand, simply by playing another one with a higher mana cost. The transition to the Corrupted state will allow them to obtain amplified effects.
The arrival of Duels will not be an end in itself, because once fully operational they will allow access to two different versions: friendly and heroic. The sessions played in friendly mode will be free, and can be used to familiarize yourself with the news of this type of game, while the operation in heroic mode will be based on the system already seen in the Arena. Also as regards the rewards: in this way it will then be possible to obtain gold, arcane dust, cards and envelopes of the most recent expansion, by detaching a ticket of the inn (which will replace the ticket to access the Arena) at a cost of 1.99 euros or by investing an amount of 150 gold.
Come al Usually, Madness at the Darkmoon Faire can be booked in two different ways: pre-purchase for 39.99 euros allows you to get forty-five packs of the expansion, plus a random legendary. At 79.99 euros you can buy the Mega Package, with eighty normal envelopes, five gold envelopes and a random legendary gold. Both solutions allow you to also secure the back of the cards dedicated to N'Zoth, but above all the possibility to try the Duels in Early Access.
Even if it will not upset the main dynamics of Hearthstone, Madness at the Fair of Darkmoon however presents itself as a fairly interesting expansion. The changes made by Blizzard to the rewards system and the arrival of the new Duels seem to be able to positively end the renewal work carried out by the developers within this title.
New cards, old gods
The Madness packages at the Darkmoon Fair will be open starting next November 17th, the day when bookings made available a few days ago will be unlocked. part of Blizzard. The new cards will be as usual one hundred and thirty-five, and will bring inside them the return of some old acquaintance. C'thun, N'Zoth, Yogg-Saron and company are so ready to go back into our decks, but they will do it in a different way than what we knew, while starting from their original characteristics. New mode: Duels
Six years of life is a long time even for a success like Hearthstone, within which the modalities of classic games for some time now do not seem to be enough, especially for old players. After the introduction of the Battle mode, with Madness at the Darkmoon Fair it will be the turn of the arrival of the new type of game entitled Duels. Understanding what it will be is very simple, as it is enough to have played some of the most recent Hearthstone single-player adventures with the dungeon run formula. The dynamics prepared by Blizzard for the Duels mode are in fact identical to those seen playing in single player, with the difference that the opponents will now be other human beings instead of the CPU. By creating a basic deck with fifteen cards, which can also be selected from those that are part of the wild format, it will be possible to enrich it as you advance in the series of battles against other human beings, after having also selected a specially made hero and power in the initial phase for Duels. Missions and rewards
As we said, the novelties introduced by Madness at the Darkmoon Faire envelop all aspects of Hearthstone. The arrival of the new cards and the new mode will in fact also be accompanied by a revision of the progression system and rewards, intended to supplant that of the missions we knew up to now. First, Blizzard has announced the introduction of a system of Quests, through which will be kept track of the achievements collected by the player within Hearthstone. Any rewards obtainable outside the standard and wild formats will be part of a specific path, while the classic missions will be further enriched: the daily quests we already knew will in fact be accompanied by weekly missions, which thus promise to give us other rewards once completed. To close the picture dedicated to the player and his deeds in Hearthstone, the card game will also include a real Profile page, updated with all the information about our account and our statistics.Come al Usually, Madness at the Darkmoon Faire can be booked in two different ways: pre-purchase for 39.99 euros allows you to get forty-five packs of the expansion, plus a random legendary.
