Static Shock - Michael B. Jordan will produce the film
THR reported late yesterday that Michael B. Jordan (Creed, Black Panther) along with his production company Outlier Society and Reginald Hudlin will produce the film starring Static Shock, already announced during the August DC FanDome.
Jordan said:
I am very proud to be able to contribute to the construction of this universe of black superheroes, our community deserves it. Outlier Society is keen to bring the diversity of these and other comic book characters to different platforms and we are thrilled to be able to do so with Reginald and Warner Bros.
Obviously, we currently have no further details on the project.

Milestone Media was founded in 1993 by a group of African-American authors including Dwayne McDuffie, Denys Cowan, Michael Davis and Derek T. Dingle. These authors became spokespersons for the need to represent minorities in the comic medium, obviously specifically in the panorama of superhero comics, with particular attention to the black population. The best-known character of Milestone is certainly Static Shock also protagonist of an animated series that aired starting from 2000.
The relaunch of the line starting from February 2021. It will start with a graphic novel by Reginald Hudlin and Kyle Baker and a regular digital first series, by an author who has not yet been able to reveal himself, dedicated to Static Shock, a project dedicated to Icon and Rocket by Reginald Hudlin and Denys Cowan and the introduction of new characters. Young adult solutions are also being studied as already done for the other DC characters.
The relaunch of the line will be preceded by a one-shot entitled Milestone Returns Zero which will be available on September 12 to coincide with the second day of the DC FanDome. It will be a 17-page issue written by Reggie Hudlin and Greg Pak with pencils by Denys Cowan, Chris Sotomayor, Jim Lee, Ryan Benjamin, Khoi Pham, Scott Hanna, Bill Sienkiewicz, Don Ho, Alex Sinclair and Deron Bennett.
Waiting to read the return of the Milestone heroes, some non-literate tables have been released in which, however, we can already see the restyling of Static Shock and Icon & Rocket:
Also during the bread it was also confirmed that the original Milestone series will be progressively made available digitally on the main platforms.
Add Static Shock to your collection of action figures.
