PS5 no longer comes out at the end of 2020 in many countries, as far as we know
The new generation of consoles will arrive on time, precisely in November 2020. Considering all the problems that have arisen this year following the coronavirus epidemic, it seems almost a miracle that Xbox Series X and PS5 arrive all over the world (almost) simultaneously . Well, in fact it seems that this is not the case. PS5 no longer comes out at the end of 2020 in many countries, according to a report.
We are speaking precisely of Southeast Asian nations. With the sole exception of Singapore, multiple sites dedicated to that part of the world have removed the word "Holiday 2020" from the official site. Mp1st has verified that in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam this time indication is no longer present. In Singapore, however, pre-orders are active.
It would therefore seem that Sony Interactive Entertainment has decided to limit the distribution of PS5 in one part of the world. For now it is only a guess: the Tokyo company has not yet commented on the matter, so for now there are no official confirmations.
If so, however, what could be the most probable reasons? Clearly a small amount of PS5 inventory could be the main reason for the distribution limitation. Sony, having to prioritize itself, may have decided to cut a part of the world from the D1 release. Europe has already been "delayed" by a week, probably to simplify logistics.
Why Southeast Asia in particular? We are talking about an area of the world with a lower purchasing power and above all we are talking about states in which mobile gaming is the master: computers and, in particular, consoles are not a priority for the general public in the south- east asia.
We repeat, however, that for now they are only suppositions. We hope Sony will clarify this soon. For our part, we are happy that in Italy the release date is more than confirmed: on November 19th we will be able to get our hands on PS5. Tell us, what will be your first game?
You can find PS5 on Amazon Italy. You can book Destruction All Stars, or Demon's Souls or even Marvel's Spider-Man Miles Morales.
