PS5: the console is extremely quiet, confirmation arrives
Just today, some Japanese content creators and journalists have proceeded to publish in-depth articles and close-up photos in preview of the much desired PS5, including some pieces of gameplay from Godfall and Astro's Playroom. In fact, in the last few hours, the performances of the DualSense and SSD stand out at the top of curiosity on the subject. Surely, you may be wondering what was the first sensation I felt when testing the PS5 - obviously excluding the thrill of being among the first in the world to do so. The first answer to this question is perhaps the one we've all been waiting for, which is that PS5 appears to be very quiet in the first place. So, at least from the first tests carried out, the cooling system seems to be very performing.

What we have been provided in the last few hours is really a taste of the upcoming next-gen by Sony. However, the first PS5 tests posted on YouTube in Japan were exciting. In particular, Dengeki, a Japanese journalist, provided some details regarding the silence and the heat dissipation system. As can be seen in the video below, Dangeki tested the console for 1 hour and 45 minutes, testing Astro's Playroom and Godfall as titles.

What struck the Japanese journalist most was the silence of the PS5. "Since we were in a recording studio, there were a few things around, as well as the photographic lights and the temperature of the environment which was quite high. I've played Astro's Playroom and Godfall and never noticed the sound of the cooling fans, "he said. "Even the console was not very hot to the touch," he concludes, and this is a fact that also confirms the Japanese newspaper 4gamer.net which carried out its tests in a study whose temperature was around 30 ºC.

In addition to the efficient cooling system and the quietness of the console, Dengeki was also genuinely impressed by the DualSense. Pad in hand, the news announced at the time by Sony for the new controller - that is the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers - were particularly evident in this first test. “The load that pulls the trigger changes according to the situation,” says the reporter, “the vibration is of different quality” he continues. Unfortunately Dengeki was unable to experience 3D stereo sound or engage in other types of tests. However, according to him, the gaming experience on PS5 is as exciting as we had hoped for.

The next-gen is upon us. Get a PS5 by pre-ordering the console on Amazon Italy at this address. You can also pre-order a second DualSense by clicking here and a game to start with, such as the famous Demon's Souls or Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
