Lucca Changes: what will happen to big events?
On the last day of Lucca Changes, the future will be discussed in the meeting called "The future of events" which concerns the whole world of entertainment after the unexpected and unthinkable situation a year ago due to the global pandemic. 2020 was overwhelmed by a wave that canceled and transformed all the most important events of the year; even the Olympics have been postponed to 2021, and the situation still seems far from being resolved. Countless concerts, fashion shows, conventions, festivals and much more have been canceled or converted into a new form, and with this new digital form we talk about the future of this world at Lucca Changes, the completely digital version of Lucca Comics & Games due to force majeure.
The writer and screenwriter Alfredo Accatino, Barbara Maussier, professor of Sociology of cultural and communicative processes at the University of Rome Tor Vergata and expert in festival management, will participate in this meeting, Domenico De Masi sociologist and professor of Sociology of work at the “La Sapienza” University of Rome, Emanuele Vietina the director of the festival and the deputy interior minister Vito Crimi. Fabio Viola will moderate the meeting. In this meeting we will talk with some experts about what awaits us from here on out, with a focus on how the major events related to the pop culture environment, like Lucca itself, will have to reorganize and modify to adapt to the new conditions that have appeared. in the world, hoping sooner or later to be able to return to a normality so coveted by society as a whole. A conference therefore where the situation will be analyzed and what impact this will have on work, tourism and above all on the community dimension and on the way we conceive of modern life. To see the conference, tune in to the channels of Lucca at 11:00 on November 1st.
