After presenting you the LEGO Friends sets of the ecological theme "Safeguarding the ocean" that we have christened "Friends of the Sea", now that autumn comes and so many afternoons of gray, rain and cold weather, we bring you some "warmth" by presenting the LEGO Friends sets of the theme developed with National Geographic "Let's save the jungle".Last 25 June 2020, LEGO announced that it had activated a new collaboration with National Geographics (here you can read the official announcement), in support of which it has released a series of City and Friends sets aimed at creating awareness in children on the themes of exploration and protection of endangered species in the jungles and oceans of the world. The sets will be very useful to help in talking to children about endangered species and animal care. What we present below are the sets dedicated to the recovery, rescue and care of the inhabitants of the jungle.

Andrea and Emma have fun in the smoothie van and in the box, which is easy to build (it is in fact suitable from 4 years old) there are even two dolphins. Here is the smallest (and least expensive) set of the “Friends of the Sea” series. Olivia, her robot Zobo and 4 turtles are the protagonists of the box which includes a small amphibious vehicle, the clinic for turtles on stilts and an islet where to place the turtles. The set is a joy to assemble thanks to the accessories included: two broken turtle shells, eggs, life jackets, syringes, baby bottles, etc., in short, everything you need for a small marine veterinary clinic. 41378 - THE DOLPHIN RESCUE MISSION
The "Friends of the Sea" offer us a play set set underwater that appears truly loving and intriguing. Already from the image on the box, the wreck of the galleon where the dolphins found refuge and the white and yellow hydrofoil bring to mind a thousand adventures. The presence of algae, crabs, octopuses, seahorses and LEGO fish make it a truly unique set, full of details that little girls or girls will love. Two dolphins (mother and child) and two mini-dolls enrich the box: Stephanie and Kacey. The set also includes a water-reactive textile treasure map that adds an additional adventurous dimension to a set inspired by the rescue of endangered animals. In detail the submarine is a simple construction that will give great satisfaction for the rounded appearance and the round glass, the wreck of the vessel is just as quick to assemble but has numerous details of the marine flora and fauna that you will want to be able to add it to your aquarium (if you own one). The rock with the treasure turns out to be a not too inspired accessory. The set is very nice once you have assembled it, but it is a little too poor in LEGO pieces for the expense incurred (there are only 363 pieces). The lighthouse is a really interesting set. This box is very beautiful not only for the affordable price, but also for the spaces dedicated to play: the rescue center is equipped with many different functions including a laboratory, a play area for sea lions, a rest area, a TV room, an office and an observation deck with a lamp that can be illuminated by pressing the roof of the lighthouse! This set Includes 2 mini-dolls: Mia and Emma, 1 dolphin, 1 bird, 1 turtle and 2 sea lions. The construction is quite simple although it gives great satisfaction especially in the assembly of the 29 cm high white and pink lighthouse. The details are numerous as well as the additional components (including the textile map). Finally a "Friends of the Sea" set which also represents a great constructive challenge: the motorboat has 908 pieces and completed will give great satisfaction not only for the details and design but above all for playability. The motorboat is in fact equipped with a revolving crane with stretcher, a lookout post and the cockpit. The deck is removable for access to a laboratory, a kitchen and a bedroom (with toilet!) Below deck. The mini-dolls present are numerous: Olivia, Andrea, Mia, the robot Zobo and a narwhal (exclusive piece of the set). The set is packed with accessories that will make its gameplay even more fun. The only criticism we would like to make is that relating to the mini-dolls present: for those who bought the other playest of the "friends of the sea" sub-set, Olivia and Mia have already been included in the lighthouse and in the Rescue Mission for the turtles. LEGO should instead include new mini-dolls also to have new hairstyles in different colors and increase the group of "friends" of the protagonists of the series.Rescue boat 41381 89.99 € 908 Pzs Item Score Overall 9 Minis 7 Design 8 Pieces / price 7 "Woosh factor" 8 Investment 6 In conclusion, we recommend to those who can afford it the purchase of the entire sub-set (we are around 240 euros): the four boxes will in fact allow you to have an operational base with a lighthouse, a fully equipped motorboat, a submarine and a small turtle veterinary clinic. You will also have accessories and details of marine fauna and flora in order to save, care for and protect all the inhabitants of the ocean. If we could suggest a couple of other "Friends of the Sea" themed boxes to LEGO we would propose two low-end boxes (strangely absent in the current proposal): in one we would put only marine accessories (fish, seahorses and a nice backdrop to be built like a barrier corallina), in the other a rock with a small wreck, a few seagulls and a mini-doll with cylinders and fins. In this way the sub-set would be even more complete and increase playability.
