Fire in a Tesla store, 7 electric cars on fire
The dynamics have not yet been clarified but, according to what has emerged so far, the one that broke out in a Tesla Store in Sweden could be an arson. Therefore, if this hypothesis were confirmed, someone could have targeted the US company specializing in the production of electric vehicles. The emergency was reported last night, when firefighters received notice of a fire that had broken out in the Tesla Store in Malmö. Investigations are still ongoing although authorities fear that the arson trail is the most reliable one.
The firefighters initially attempted to extinguish the burning vehicles that were closest to the building and, thanks to this move, they managed to prevent the fire from spreading further. Eventually they managed to put out the flames, but at least 7 or 8 Tesla vehicles were completely destroyed by the fire. Magnus Köhlin, head of the fire brigade team, also confirmed that "7 or 8 electric cars were set on fire in different places, within an area of 300-400 square meters". Furthermore, Köhlin himself seems to exclude the fact that it could be a fire that broke out accidentally.
In any case, it is not the first time that some Tesla-brand cars have been destroyed in a fire. In fact, a Tesla Model X had already been set on fire last year, this time in Germany, and - in the words of the car's owner - someone may have set the fire voluntarily. Another similar incident happened two years ago in Amsterdam when two cars of the US brand were set on fire by some arsonists while they were parked a few tens of meters away. So, although nothing is yet certain - as investigations are still ongoing - it would seem that Tesla arouses a sense of hatred in someone.
