Yubico presents the new YubiKey 5C NFC key

Official presentation for the new entry in the range of Yubico keys dedicated to authentication: the fifth series launched at the end of 2018 now includes YubiKey 5C NFC which, as you can already guess from the name, leverages Near Field Communication technology to further simplify the access procedure to your device and your accounts. The debut on the market is imminent.

The YubiKey 5C NFC key in the Yubico catalog

It joins the models already available based on USB-A, USB-A + NFC, USB standards -C and USB-C + Lightning. In all cases the goal is to add an extra level of protection to keep profiles and information safe, even those managed by a Windows 10 PC, without forcing the user to resort to two-factor authentication with systems such as obtaining an OTP (One Time Password) or receiving a temporary code via SMS or email.



The official price announced by Yubico for the YubiKey 5C NFC is 55 dollars in the United States, only 5 dollars more than the YubiKey 5C model which however lacks Near Field Communication support. Full compatibility with Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and Linux guaranteed. Below is a gallery of images.
