YouTube Music celebrates 500 million downloads with a new feature
There are two important new features for YouTube Music, the famous app available on Android smartphones and iOS devices aimed at music streaming: the milestone of 500 million downloads, and a new feature that will certainly make non-paying users happy.
In August 2020, YouTube Music had a huge hit on the Google Play Store, finally hitting the 500 million mobile download mark (it didn't hit TikTok, but it's still a good result). Probably also thanks to a series of novelties and improvements all recent: for example, the intelligent integration with Google Assistant, and a new implementation with Google Maps. It is not excluded that this record may reach new heights by the end of 2020.
Almost to celebrate the milestone, YouTube Music has decided to receive a new feature for Android, and the latter will make users particularly happy who they have not yet paid the subscription to the service. Soon you will be able to stream music on your account directly to smart speakers, without paying; so far the "old" functionality allowed it only to users with an active subscription.
This does not mean, of course, that some limitations will not be present: for example, it will not be possible to create song queues during the broadcast to the speaker. We will come back to update you on YouTube Music as soon as we have more details: do you already use the Google app regularly?
