Xbox Series S vs One: load times compared in video
Microsoft has in fact shared on its official channel a new video that compares the loading times of The Outer Worlds on Xbox Series S and on Xbox One. The difference is clear, since it goes from 53 seconds of the old-gen version to 10 seconds of the next-gen version.
We can also assume that the 10 second load on Xbox Series S is just a starting point. After all, we are talking about a game born on an older generation that was not designed for the SSD from the beginning.
In any case, the reduced loading times are a great reason to upgrade to the new generation. We have less and less time to play and not having to waste precious seconds in the screens between one area and another will be only positive.
Let's not forget also that Xbox will allow you to switch from one game to another instantly thanks a Quick Resume. In this way we will be able to keep more games active and, for example, play a single player video game while we wait directly in a lobby for our friends to be available to play online.
The philosophy of the next-gen is precisely that to make life easier for gamers and give them more access to games. Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, has in fact recently explained how the goal of the Redmond company is to not force anyone to buy a new console, allowing everyone to continue playing on old-gen, on PC or via xCloud on mobile.
