Xbox Series S, faster than PS5 thanks to the processor
After these hot days made of leaks and official announcements from Microsoft, now we can draw conclusions about the characteristics of the next generation consoles, at least as regards the Xbox Series S and Series X. The specifications have been revealed, and above all with the launch of the date and price of the next-gen, the Redmond house has published a video in which it explains in detail the characteristics of what should be the least powerful console of the next generation.
In detail in these last hours, the CPU of Series S was taken into consideration, and as Microsoft itself stated it is the same as Series X, in this way it would mean the victory of the "little one" from Redmond also against PS5. The processor should be an 8-core AMD Zen 2 Custom with a clock frequency of 3.6 GHz practically the same as that of the PS5 console, but it runs at 3.5 GHz. At this point one would think that the console less powerful than Microsoft would beat Playstation in speed.
But surely these statements leave the time they find and speaking clearly and making a broader speech, the processor frequency does not indicate neither the power nor the speed of a machine, especially since we're talking about a measly 0.1 GHz more. At this point everything will be in the hands of the developers and how they will use the hardware made available by the two houses to help them in the development of their ideas.
In this case we know that Sony has worked closely with the his first party studies to be able to forge a console able to meet their needs and find the perfect combination of power and reliability. We will only have the answers to all these questions when we can get our hands on Xbox Series S and PS5, for now we just have to wait.
