Windows 10: the first patch Tuesday bug immediately
Patch Tuesday September 2020 for Windows 10 was only released yesterday, but there is already the first (and hopefully the last) problem introduced in the operating system by the package. A situation that unfortunately repeats itself on a monthly basis. Microsoft is now called upon to review the feedback received and remedy it as quickly as possible.

KB4571756: WSL2 bug in W10 Patch Tuesday

A bug emerges from reports from various users related to the operation of WSL2 (Windows Subsystem for Linux 2). The message “Element not found” is shown as can be seen in the screenshot below. Others receive the warning "process exited with 4294967295" instead.

The problem seems to disappear following the uninstallation of the cumulative update KB4571756 (KB4574727 for versions 1909 and 1903). To do this, you need to open Windows Update and click on "View update history", select the item "Uninstall updates", highlight the problematic one and finally delete it.

For the moment everything is silent from Microsoft. It is not known whether the reports have been collected and the issue taken over by the software house team working on Windows 10.
