Virtua Fighter x eSports Project announced by SEGA with a trailer at TGS 2020

Virtua Fighter x eSports Project has been announced by SEGA as part of TGS 2020, with the trailer that you find at the bottom: this is a new episode celebrating the company's sixtieth anniversary.

So it's not a question of Virtua Fighter 6, but something different: a fighting game designed specifically for online competitions.

"Virtua Fighter, created in 1993 as the first three-dimensional fighting game in the world, will restart as an eSports title to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of SEGA ", declared the Japanese house. "The details on the project will be announced in an upcoming update."

So literally nothing is known about the game or the release period, let alone the platforms on which it will be published, although we imagine that SEGA will point to the consoles of new generation.

It doesn't seem like it, but ten years have already passed since the last episode of Virtua Fighter, which was a re-release for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360: Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown.
