Season 2 of the Netflix series of The Witcher just lost a Witcher. Actor Thue Rasmussen, who was supposed to play Eskel, announced yesterday that he will no longer play the character, due to planning problems due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Basically it seems that the new shooting schedule is going to overlap with another of his work, to which he has given priority.

Netflix has not yet officially announced his farewell, but Rasmussen has been very clear about it in his official statement "Unfortunately, due to the rescheduling due to Covid-19, I will no longer play Eskel in The Witcher. That said, Rasmussen took his leave wishing the production well and confident that The Witcher Season 2 will be as successful as it is was Season 1.

From what is known about Season 2, Eskel will have relative importance in the story, so replacing Rasmussen and re-shooting some scenes shouldn't be an insurmountable problem.
