Shot inflicted on cybercrime in Poland

In Poland, the authorities released the handcuffs on the wrists of four cybercriminals believed to be among the most active and dangerous in the country. Europol reports this and refers to coordinated action with the aim of tackling the scourge of cybercrime. The operation was managed by the Polish Police Center Bureau of Investigation (Centralne Biuro Śledecze Policji) under the supervision of the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw (Prokuratura Regionalna w Warszawie). Provincial departments and the continental agencies themselves are also involved.

Cybercrime: four major arrests in Poland

Those arrested will have to answer first of all for the accusation linked to the distribution of malware, both through phishing campaigns ( sometimes pretending to be representatives of institutions) and with other methods that have mainly targeted mobile devices. Over 1,000 alleged victims in the local area.

Another charge is that relating to the practice known as SIM swapping through which personal data, credentials for access to services and bank accounts were stolen, consequently extending their hands on the sources: thus the equivalent of over 147,000 euros was stolen.

Again, they have created about 50 fake online shops capable of attracting and deceiving 10,000 customers. The distribution of malicious code was also conducted through some of the stores.

Accusations more than enough, except that the four criminals are also responsible for some bomb alarms triggered in different kindergartens throughout the country leading to the evacuation of a total of 13,350 people.
