PS5: will Sony lower the price after Microsoft's reveal?

As is known, Microsoft has finally broken the silence regarding the upcoming launch of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, revealing the price, date and confirming the dual offer on the market. Therefore, from 10 November 2020, its new consoles will be welcome in our living rooms. At the same time, however, Sony has yet to tell us its and, in this regard, an anonymous source revealed to GameReactor that at the time of Microsoft's reveal, PS5 was considerably more expensive than its rival. Will it really be like this?

Precisely for this reason, Microsoft is making a lot of talk in the last few hours, especially for the attractive offer presented with the new all-digital version. We remind readers, in fact, that it will be possible to buy Xbox Series S - the console without disc player and less powerful - for € 299, while Xbox Series X - the most powerful and performing version - will be sold at a price of € 499.

Well, according to the rumors, the idea to start was to sell the standard version of PS5 at a price higher than 499 €. Indeed, this is not even such an absurd theory, considering that at the time Sony offered PlayStation 3 at a price of 599 €. At this point, however, the most popular and shared hypothesis among online users is that the full version of PS5 will cost € 499, while the all-digital version will cost € 399. Keeping in mind that the two versions should differ only for the optical disc player, this price difference could be the most realistic - remembering that in the past few weeks we have seen much less economic hypotheses. One thing is certain, Microsoft's prices are really competitive and if Sony is really re-evaluating its offer, as it is forced, it faces a great challenge.
