Popeye on newsstands with Editoriale Cosmo and Nona Arte
Through a post on its official facebook page, yesterday afternoon, Nona Arte confirmed the return to newsstands of Popeye in collaboration with Editoriale Cosmo.
Here are the details provided so far:
We will publish a new miniseries from newsstands, halfway between the projects we normally carry out for La Gazzetta dello Sport or for Hachette and our normal products for kiosks. With the curatorship of Luca Boschi we will produce four issues dedicated to Popeye, obviously commented as only Luca can. There will be a lot of Italian Arm of the Bianconi Editions, but not only. Four monthly issues and then to continue we'll see if you bought us again this time… So in November Popeye will return in a format similar to that of the attachments to the RCS newspapers, for a total of four issues edited by Luca Boschi.
We will therefore start in November with these first four experimental numbers. The Popeye by Bianconi Editions is mentioned. For those who</a> do not know, in fact, between 1963 and 1994, unpublished stories of the character were made for the Editorial Metro founded by the publisher Renato Bianconi. There are over 800 albums with stories characterized by a profound reinterpretation of the original character, modifying the contents to be able to appeal to a very young audience. These Italian stories have their own originality by renaming some characters and introducing new ones or recovering others not very present in the original American version, giving them greater prominence here.
