INPS: attention, scam attempt in progress
Beware of the scam: INPS warns that an attempt is in progress against users. A post appeared on the social media channels of the institution informing about an email in which "you are asked to download a password-protected document in order to check the regularity of the social security contributions paid". Better to trash immediately.

False emails from INPS: it's a scam, do not download the attachment

Unfortunately, no further details are provided (attaching the message text would have been useful to identify it). In any case, the advice is the same as always: keep the alert level high and do not give in to the temptation to click, turning exclusively to the official sites and platforms for the management of your profile and your documentation.

In this regard we remind you that in a few days the INPS PIN will be permanently retired . The transitional phase towards the definitive switch-off will start on Thursday 1 October. It will be replaced by SPID, the Public Digital Identity System that allows access to a steadily increasing number of Public Administration services, already employed by ten million Italians (data updated at the beginning of September).

These were not easy months for the institute, hit at the end of March by a historic down in the midst of the health crisis, just at the moment when the collection of applications for obtaining the bonus began from 600 euros. A story on which the Privacy Guarantor has decided to initiate an investigation so as to attribute responsibility for a technical incident that exposed the data of a considerable number of users.
