Doll Syndrome - Andrea Cavaletto | Review
Something that has entered our mind will never really be lost.

Sigmund Freud explained it and, in a certain sense, a man can be forever pervaded by some experiences that will mark him for the rest of his life. Certain experiences can even conflict with a man's mind, which may not even be able to dominate them completely, giving rise to a continuous struggle, resulting in rough and perverse acts. This is what happens to the protagonist of the story told in Andrea Cavaletto's Doll Syndrome, published by Black House (an editorial project curated by Christian Sartirana) in the fiery month of August that has just ended, with a balance of his "I" always very weak. But the balance of the Ogre is about to break…

Doll Syndrome, the refusal of modern society

We had the pleasure of meeting Andrea Cavaletto in person at the ALEcomics that just ended, with the desire to meet the author of Paranoid Boyd and some of the stories of Dylan Dog and Martin Mystère for Sergio Bonelli Editore, finding ourselves in front of an authentic surprise: Doll Syndrome, published by Black House, is his first novel. In addition to the collaboration with Sergio Bonelli's stable, the Piedmontese author boasts a strong versatility: teacher of creative writing at the Holden School in Turin, he is a screenwriter of international films such as the cult horror Hidden in the Woods (directed by Patricio Valladares, 2012 ), A Taste of Phobia (AA.VV. 2017) and Doll Syndrome (Domiziano Delvaux Cristopharo, 2014) from which he drew inspiration for this novel.
