Cyberpunk 2077, the price will not be higher on PS5 and Xbox Series X
This is what the SVP of business development, Michal Nowakowski said during a recent financial meeting for CD Projekt RED, answering the question about the possible price increase for Cyberpunk 2077:
"As for the 69.99 euros, this is the standard recommended price already for the current generation, so we can expect the same price in the Eurozone also on the next gen", Nowakowski said, denying a possible price increase even for what it's about North America.
"As for the dollar price, we launched our pre-orders at $ 60 and of course we will keep that price, we won't change it at the last minute to go up to $ 70. D unque to be clear: these prices are already on the market in any case, you can already see them on various sites: $ 59.99 in the US and € 69.99 are those established ".
The question could create some doubts after seeing the initiatives of Activision, 2K and Electronic Arts, which have proposed various special initiatives for the sale of games on PS5 and Xbox Series X: for example, the new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has a upgrade that provides for the payment of 10 dollars more for the next gen version, as well as NBA 2K21.
On the contrary, Cyberpunk 2077 should therefore maintain the same price also on PS5 and Xbox Series X, it will be playable in backward compatibility at the launch of the new consoles and will get a specific update for the next gen in the first months of 2021 which will still be free for those who own the game.
