This is confirmed by two new studies by the American Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), according to which although the majority of coronavirus-positive pregnant women are asymptomatic, some may develop a severe form of Covid-19 and run a greater risk of give birth prematurely or terminate pregnancy. Results, however, which must be taken with great caution: they concern a relatively small number of patients, and may therefore not be representative of all future coronavirus-positive mothers.. @CDCMMWR report looking at almost 600 hospitalized pregnant women with # COVID19 found that pregnant women can have severe illness and poor birth outcomes, such as the mother requiring intensive care, pregnancy loss, and preterm birth.
