With the arrival of the GeForce RTX 3080, the graphics capabilities of gaming PCs have taken a new leap forward, highlighting however, the limits of today's CPUs where they still have a net weight in the framerate. In 1080p, it must be said, many games still manage to run very well, often exceeding 200fps without graphics compromise, but others are held back even with rather powerful processors and it is something that did not surprise us for two reasons. The first concerns the abyss that has been open for some time between CPU and GPU, with the latter at the center of today's big technology businesses and therefore benefiting from rapid and continuous evolution. The second reason is instead related to a shift from 1080p to higher resolutions, at least in the case of hardcore gamers, who are the explicit target of a card like the GeForce RTX 3080.
