5G boom in China: 110 million in one year
While in the West the rollout of networks continues at a slow pace, in China 5G already seems to be at home: CAICT (China Academy for Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) has officially announced that in the last year 110 million new users have subscribed to a tariff plan or a subscription that allows them access to networks already active in the country.
At the end of July, over 460,000 towers were installed in the country for the delivery of the 5G signal, but the goal declared by the central government is to accelerate the pace and exceed the threshold of 600,000 by the end of the year . The first to benefit is Huawei, which while overseas continues to face difficulties, in China it supplies both network infrastructures and mobile devices for end users. In this regard, according to CAICT, 60% of smartphones purchased in August are compatible with the latest generation networks.
