Resident Evil Village will be the longest chapter in RE Engine ever, says an insider
His statement came in response to a joke from a Twitter user, who made fun of the length of Resident Evil 3 (the remake ed), calling it the size of a DLC.
Dusk Golem : "Resident Evil 3 is longer than a DLC and includes Resistance, although I am aware that many overlook it because they personally don't find it interesting. However, if you are worried about buying a Resident Evil that is too short, I want to reassure you. Let's just say I have some idea of what the Resident Evil games currently in development will contain. I am referring only to Resident Evil 8, although it is now known that Resident Evil 4 is also coming. Resident Evil 8 will be the chapter of the series that runs with the RE engine longer than ever and, without revealing too much, the other upcoming things will follow the same trend. "
How long will it last, then? Dusk Golem can't tell, because he hasn't played it yet. However, hopefully enough to be satisfying, but not too much to become cloying. Basically we are talking about a narrative game. (2/2) in dev right now, I'm only talking about RE8 right now but people know RE4 is also coming up at this point. RE8 will be the longest RE Engine game to date, & without saying too much the other stuff coming up should follow a similar trend.
