PS5: Metro Exodus developers are excited about ray tracing
4A Games, the developers of Metro Exodus, are excited about PS5's ray tracing. This was announced by executive producer Jon Bloch in an interview with the official English PlayStation magazine.
Why so much fervor for a feature so little advertised by Sony itself? Bloch explained this by the fact that 4A Games fully embraced this technology, as demonstrated by the PC version of Metro Exodus, which was one of the few titles to make sense of Nvidia's RTX 2000 series cards. So having a console that allows you to use it is a significant advantage, since the study has already moved forward on the subject.
Even for Bloch ray tracing comes before the much advertised super fast SSD, which will improve yes the experience of the players, but it will not allow to make that generational leap on a visual level guaranteed instead by ray tracing.
Bloch also spoke about the possible uses of DualSense with the Metro series, which could for example provide a Specific haptic feedback when reloading a shotgun.
Metro Exodus is available for PC, Xbox One and PS4 from February 2019. If you are interested in learning more about the game, read our review. 4A Games was recently acquired by THQ Nordic.
