Mulan free in December for Disney + subscribers
Mulan's Premier Access will last only 3 months, a live action remake of the 1998 animated film, on Disney +. Available at a cost of € 21.99 in Italy, the film will go to the streaming platform's catalog on December 4 exactly 3 months after its Premier Access.
At least that's what transpires from the official page of the film on Disney + US version. The Italian page for the moment does not confirm this news even if it is likely, as happened for Premier Access, that it will be confirmed in a few days.
The decision not to release Mulan in theaters was obviously dictated by health emergency caused by the Coronavirus and, although the release to the cinema was initially guaranteed in those countries where theaters have gradually reopened, Disney preferred to opt for streaming included in our country.
Disney would also have plans to bring more content to the Premier Access platform even though Disney CEO Bob Chapek said Mulan's release in Premier Access is a coincidence. The titles most likely to join Mulan could be Jungle Cruise starring Dwayne Johnson, Soul (Pixar) and Marvel's Black Widow.
Mulan's live-action adaptation will be directed by Niki Caro (The Zookeeper's Wife) and will have an international cast, which includes Yifei Liu (The Forbidden Kingdom, Once Upon a Time) as Mulan, Donnie Yen (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) as Commander Tung, Jason Scott Lee (Crouching Tiger , Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny) as Böri Khan and Yoson An (Shark - The First Shark) as Cheng Honghui, starring Gong Li (Memoirs of a Geisha, Red Lanterns) as Xianniang and Jet Li (Shao Lin Si, Lethal Weapon 4) as the Emperor. The screenplay is, however, written by Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, Elizabeth Martin and Lauren Hynek.
