Lord of the Rings Gollum talks about the gameplay, the video
Gamescom 2020 is underway and, albeit in a completely different format, is giving us a gift of events and presentations. One of these is the Future Games Show presented by GamesRadar +. Among the many announcements, we had the opportunity to discover new details also on Lord of the Rings Gollum, a new adventure in development at the studios of Deadelic Entertainment, known throughout the world for its 2D graphic adventures (Deponia, Edna & Harvey, The Whispering World) and now grappling with a title that, we hope, will technologically aim much higher.

During the event we could hear the words of the developers of Lord of the Rings Gollum, who spoke to us of the gameplay. When we have the controller in hand, an adventure and stealth game will be waiting for us. Gollum, after all, is a small, weak and shy creature, especially compared to the many monstrosities present in Middle-earth. While it is possible to knock out certain enemies, it will always be risky to expose yourself. There will also be a series of environmental puzzles, platform sections and high-paced parkour actions.

In addition, a fundamental point of the adventure and the plot will be the duality "Gollum - Smeagol". During the dialogues it will be possible to choose between various choices, following Gollum's more feral instinct or Smeagol's residual rationality. However, it will not be a simple dialogue choice, but a real minigame: it will be possible to fail and get a different answer than desired. This is an interesting way to represent the fragmented consciousness of our protagonist.

We remind you that Lord of the Rings Gollum will arrive on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X towards the end of 2021. We hope to receive new information on this particular project soon.
