Epic's attack on Apple is irresponsible corporate - editorial propaganda
Being admired or entertained spectators is understandable, after Epic released a video that enshrines an all-out war against Apple and Google. After all, this is a rather absurd trailer that was clearly ready for some time, a move studied to the millimeter in a strange game of virtual chess between some companies with billionaire turnover. First it was the turn of the profits from the sales in the store, then the game was removed, then the video, the tweets, the statements, the lawsuit ... Epic threw the bait and Apple took the bait.
The video itself, posted on the social channels of Epic and Fortnite, includes several levels of nonsense that will probably not be caught by the vast majority of young players of the battle royale. First of all there is the mockery of the historic commercial that presented the Apple Macintosh computer in 1984, an advertisement in which it was Apple who presented itself as the heroine of the public against a big Orwellian brother (then clearly IBM), intent on doing the washing of the population brain. In the video a heroine threw a hammer at the giant screen that spewed propaganda on the public.
In the 2020 version of Epic, called "Nineteen Eighty-Fortnite" in a clear assonance with the English pronunciation of 1984, the citizens are slaves to a talking Apple in the role of big brother, while Epic plays the hammer-wielding heroine and ends the video with this message: "Epic Games has challenged the App Store monopoly. In retaliation, Apple is blocking Fortnite on billions of devices. Join the fight to prevent 2020 from becoming like 1984 ".
