Cyberpunk 2077, the Life Paths in video: three different beginnings and narrative paths

Cyberpunk 2077 has returned to show itself in more detail with today's Night City Wire just aired, explaining in particular something about Life Paths and showing these three different narrative premises on video.

It's about choosing the background of your character among three different possibilities: Street Kid, Nomad and Corporate. By choosing Street Kid, you find yourself with a character already well integrated into the urban reality of Night City, like a street kid who can count on a network of acquaintances in the underground city but also obviously difficult situations with enmities and dangers around every corner. . Probably, the advantages of this position will be found in the social connections of protagonist V, while from the narrative point of view one will immediately find oneself inserted in the urban setting lived from within and at a rather low social level.

The Nomad comes from instead by the population living outside of Night City, in the large Badlands that lie outside the city. By choosing a Nomad version of V, our story will start in the desert surrounding the city, with narrative elements concerning the population rejected out of the urban fabric and a story that touches on topics that are in some ways more romantic and adventurous, at least as a premise.

The "Body" is instead the man of the corporations: in this case V is inserted between the overwhelming gears of one of the mega-corporations that dominate Night City and the story starts from a series of political, economic and social intrigues linked with the high society of the city, between business and violent action.

In any case, whatever the choice made by the player, the wide freedom of choice on how to evolve the story remains: the Life Paths represent narrative premises, the start of three different paths that can then intersect or evolve in a way that is also different from the background.
