Anti-piracy operation, Sparks Group stopped
The US authorities, in collaboration with Europol and Eurojust, have carried out an anti-piracy operation of great importance by virtue of the result achieved: the offensive, in fact, cut off the head of the so-called "Sparks Group", responsible for some of the most harmful distributions of recent years for the audiovisual sector.

Sparks Group beheaded

The description of the actions carried out demonstrates how sophisticated the organization was, whose origins date back to 2011 and which by now had branched out its servers around the world to distribute films and TV shows of vast provenance. According to what emerged, much of the most attractive content violated in recent years would come from the same source, which well expresses the satisfaction that Europoli, Eurojust and the Department of Justice let leak out. Most of the perpetrators were arrested in the USA following an extensive investigation conducted thanks to the collaboration of investigators from 18 countries around the world (including Italy). 60 servers would be stopped between North America, Europe and Asia. The organization was reportedly headed in particular by George Bridi and Jonatan Correa, both under arrest; Umar Ahmad, third name at the center of the scene, is currently being sought.
