WhatsApp does not work: server down on the evening of July 14, 2020: what happens?

WhatsApp does not work at the time of writing. Try to start your instant messaging application on Android smartphones, iOS devices, tablets or PCs, and you will immediately notice it. Not only is it not possible to send messages, but neither can you receive them from the contacts in your address book. What happens?

The malfunctions began right in the last hours of the evening today, Tuesday 14 July 2020. Its nature is unclear, and it will not be until Mark Zuckerberg provides more information; he will probably be testing some new features, as happened recently, when the WhatsApp, Instagram and company servers went down.

Like the app, WhatsApp Web also does not work: it could not be otherwise, given that it communicates via Wi-Fi and mobile network with the app of your smartphone. However, usually such situations do not last for more than a few hours: you will see that everything will return to normal shortly. Meanwhile, you can use Instagram and Facebook, which seem to work properly.
