Uncharted: Tom Holland unveils his Nathan Drake look
The story focuses on the genesis of Nathan Drake, telling the story of how Nathan became a treasure hunter and his encounter with what will be his mentor and friend Victor "Sully" Sullivan, played by Mak Wahlberg. Wahlberg has been involved in the project for several years already, and the original plan saw him in the shoes of an adult Nathan Drake. The change in casting however does not seem to have dampened the enthusiasm of the actor who said:
"It is exciting because, without revealing too much, it is now more a story of origin. How he and Victor meet and how Nathan becomes the Nathan we know. Sully and he will meet, and will try not only to improve each other, but also to collaborate and develop their friendship relationship. It will be very beautiful. As I read the script, I felt like I was reading Indiana Jones or Thomas Crown Affair. It has these fantastic elements of these robbery and adventure films mixed together, films I've never been part of. "
The film, scripted by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway will be directed by Ruben Fleischer (Venom) with a cast that also includes Antonio Banderas , Sophia Taylor Ali and Tati Gabrielle . To produce the film there are Charles Roven and Alex Gartner for Atlas Entertainment and Avi Arad to Arad Productions , while Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan of the Playstation Productions will be executive producers. Originally scheduled for 5 March 2021, Uncharted will arrive in theaters on July 16, 2021.
