The goal of Italy in the Digital is to accelerate the economic recovery . The initiative was born from the experience acquired in the course of the years with other projects such as Grow in the Digital and the Google Digital Training that have since helped 500,000 people gain the digital skills needed to kick start a business or improve their career. The effort announced today aims to help other 700,000 people as well as small and medium-sized businesses to do the same. This is the comment of Fabio Vaccarono, Managing Director of Google Italy.
for many years, Google is engaged in Italy to spread digital skills useful to find a job or grow a business. If these skills were important before the pandemic, it has now become all the more necessary: to overcome the challenges of this digitization is an essential element, to find new job opportunities, to raise a company, and to the benefit of society as a whole. It is on this line, enriched by new tools, which we intend to continue with the new project of Italy in the Digital, aimed in particular at small and medium-sized enterprises. The crisis has accelerated our use of technology, now the technology can help us exit the crisis.
During the past difficult months, the group of Mountain View has collaborated among others with the Ministry of Health to show on the search engine, on YouTube and on Maps a range of essential information about COVID-19 , activating then a partnership with the Ministry of Education to promote the adoption of the instruments of teaching at a distance. In addition to this have been distributed in loans and grant advertising to SME's, government agencies, associations and non-profit organizations.
Today, Google.org also comes with a 1 million euro is intended to Unioncamere, for support in the Digital Transformation of the business in difficulty, to be allocated to specific training and assistance from experts.
