Is Tiger Lake's Intel Xe graphics better than an Nvidia MX350?
The first benchmarks regarding the new graphics solutions that we will see implemented in the future Intel Core Tiger Lake have appeared online, we are obviously referring to the Xe GPUs. The results particularly concern the Geekbench benchmark software and were posted by the famous leakers TUM_APISAK and rogame on their respective Twitter profiles.
Taking a short step back, as we have reported several times, we will soon be able to touch with hand the new processors made at 10 nanometers and intended for the mobile sector, in particular that of ultra-thin notebooks. The new solutions will effectively replace the current Intel Core Ice Lake.
The eleventh generation, which will adopt the Willow Cove architecture combined with the Xe Gen12 graphics, should debut during the second half of 2020. The most important novelty of the new cores will be the graphics sector which, broadly speaking, should allow you to play different titles in FullHD at about 30 fps, thus guaranteeing a doubling of performance if compared to those currently offered by the GPUs integrated into the Ice CPUs. Lake.

Returning to the benchmarks, they have been used in particular to compare performance with discrete video cards, in particular with an NVIDIA GeForce MX350. From the results, the performance seems to be quite similar in general, except for some scenarios where the expected performance of the Xe GPUs proves to be superior, especially if accompanied by a Core i7 CPU.
Recall that the NVIDIA MX350 GPU is a solution based on the Pascal architecture available in both 25W and 15W versions, mainly implemented in ultra-thin laptops. The Intel Xe counterpart has a TDP that rises to 28W, a value to refer to the entire CPU package.
The benchmarks speak for themselves and show, as mentioned, results very similar between them. In this test we see that the CPU is the Intel Core i7-1165G7 aligns to the performance of the NVIDIA GeForce MX350, Core i7, remember that it shares the package with a Xe Graphics with 96 Execution Units , 16.7% more than in the variant that we will see in the package of the Core i5 . Always Geekbench allows us to see, in fact, like the Core i5-1135G7 owns 80 Execution Units , specifies that also leads us to assume that a yield performance roughly 13.5% compared to the variant of the i5-1165G7.
