Ghost of Tsushima: the Creative Director responds to criticism
After years of waiting, Ghost of Tsushima has finally arrived on PS4, at the end of the current gaming generation, which apparently still has a lot to say. Sucker Punch Productions has spent almost the entire cycle of the current generation creating their love letter for samurai cinema and now the game is finally in the hands of the players.
Jason Connell, creative and artistic director of Ghost of Tsushima, revealed to the GamesRadar.com editorial team that he had eagerly awaited the feedback from the press and gamers, to the point of spending the last few days glued to the web to follow the first reactions. “I mean, from my point of view, I observe what people say about the game and what made them enjoy it. I see there are a couple of discussions on Twitter about screenshots taken with Photo Mode. I mean, to be a new IP developed the way we usually work, during a pandemic and all these other things, I'm really proud of what people seem to love about the game. So personally it's rewarding, and I'm sure our team feels the same way too, ”says Connel.
Recall that Ghost of Tsushima has however received high marks from specialized critics and has a score of 83 on Metacritic and 85 on Opencritic. However, criticism is not lacking even for this title and following the phenomenon of review bombing that recently hit another great PlayStation exclusive, much awaited by the public - The Last of US Part II - it was inevitable to ask how the public would welcome this quest last title.
The words of Jason Connell reveal to us a mature attitude on the part of the team , that is welcoming to both positive feedback and negative, considering the opinions of the public as a valuable information, in order to evolve and improve, more and more. “There are criticisms of our game. I love criticism, and make us better . The we will observe, we will work on it and we will hear . We have discussed this. I think that the criticisms are fundamental. When we use a product the world must judge. But we do it with pride, because we feel that Ghost of Tsushima is the best game we've ever made, ” makes manifest the Creative Director of Sucker Punch.
