Ferrari Hublot Esport Series: the prancing horse enters esports
The news had been in the air for some time and Charles Leclerc's recent forays into simracing during the most difficult moments of the lockdown from Covid 19, seemed to be an appetizer of what awaited us. After all, the nut, as far as the large Italian automotive companies are concerned, had already been cast with Lamborghini and its Real Race. The announcement, which we witnessed today live in a virtual press conference, of the launch of the Ferrari Hublot Esport Series, the first official Ferrari-branded championship, is not surprising.
It will be a event open to all based on Assetto Corsa Competizione using a Ferrari 488, a car that is part of the list of GT3 class cars participating in the GT World Challenge competitions in the Kunos Simulations game. But the surprise is that it is not a standard GT3 but the Challenge Evo, a model developed by Kunos Simulations exclusively for the participants of the competition and that, we are quite sure, will test the driving skills of all participants.
Registration will begin in the AM category starting August 7th and will be open to all adults in Europe. Participants must register for free on the website www.ferrariesportsseries.gg. The first act of the tournament will be the Qualifying phase for the AM series starting from September, whose winners will reach the simracers invited by Ferrari in the PRO Series, a category in which 24 invited drivers will compete on the same tracks as the AM. The twelve fastest drivers of the four races in October of each category will have access to the final stage in November, where they will battle in three races that will elect the winner of the competition.
David Tonizza and Enzo Bonito will be the two riders of the FDA Hublot Esports Team. Who will win the competition to become their official reserve. Dream the ultimate prize: in the next season the champion will have the opportunity to become a part of the FDA Hublot Esports Team, which this year includes David Tonizza, reigning F1 drivers Esports Series and Enzo Bonito, simracer and talented. And it will not be a pro forma given that the winner will train in all effects in the team and will take over the two holders in case of need. Charles Leclerc, the ambassador of the championships and big Esports fan will follow closely all the stages of the Championship and will offer his experience as a real racer and Esports participants.
The Title Partner of the championship will be Hublot, a brand that will also enhance in the field of Esports its collaboration with Ferrari, while the Technical Partner will be the Thrustmaster, which already owns the Ferrari license for the creation and distribution of wheels and a controller for the PC and console. The Ferrari Hublot Esports Series can be followed on social channels officers.
