Microsoft's goal is to push for the spread of the new Edge in a short time, so as to leave definitively the heavy legacy of Internet Explorer, even if this involves forcing its installation on users' PCs, attracting more of some criticism.
it Is a long road for that to go: the browser of the Redmond holds a market share equal to a few percentage points, the 3,45% with the edition Legacy at the end of June (source StatCounter ) taking into consideration only the desktop platforms, the slightly more than 2.88% of the predecessor IE, well-detached from the more than 8% attributed to competitors such as Safari and Firefox. Chrome is still unreachable for all and goes close to 70%.
