CrossCode on Xbox Game Pass has more players than all other consoles together
CrossCode appears to be another example of the success of the Xbox Game Pass by both users and developers, according to what was reported by Felix Klein, one of the game's authors, during a podcast in which he claimed that the title on Xbox Game Pass already has more players than there have ever been on all the other consoles put together.
CrossCode seems not to have been able to take off on PC because the Windows Store is not used as much as other solutions on that platform, but on Xbox One it has received an impressive boost since its launch on the Xbox Game Pass, with the number of players on the Microsoft console exceeding that of the PS4 and Nintendo Switch combined.
The Radical Fish Games team has been enthusiastic about the public's response since the launch of CrossCode on the Xbox Game Pass: we do not yet have a precise vision of the economic functioning of the Microsoft service for developers, but it is likely that the co involvement, or the use of the game by users, however, has to do with the gains made then by the developers.
Klein has also confirmed that the developers get compensation already for the inclusion of the game in Xbox Game Pass, which already represents a guaranteed gain, but there are likely to be incentives depending on the success of the game in the catalog: what is certain, as reported by other developers such as Descenders, is that the positioning on Xbox Game Pass leads to much greater visibility than many indie titles could hope for.
This, oftentimes, also leads to an increase in sales, despite the fact that the games are actually free for Xbox subscribers. Game Pass. CrossCode, in this case, is an excellent action RPG with pixel graphics that we have also evaluated very well in our review.
