Beastars Season 2: updates from Paru Itagaki
The author has confirmed that Beastars Season 2 is still in the works but that it will debut on the streaming platform in 2021.

The first season of Beastars consists of 12 episodes and is currently available on Netflix where it debuted on March 13 with a notable response from critics and audiences. The anime is directed by Shinichi Matsumi (Porco Rosso), Nanami Higuchi (Little Witch Academia) is a showrunner, Nao Ootsu (Banana Fish) is character designer, Eiji Inomoto (Ghost in the Shell Arise) takes care of the CGI, while Satoru Kousaki ( Oreimo) composes the soundtrack. The series was developed by Studio Orange and produced by Toho Animation.
In Japan, the Beastars manga is being serialized on the pages of Akita Shoten's Weekly Shonen Champion magazine since September 2016 but is heading towards its conclusion; in Italy it is published by Planet Manga.

Beastars tells the story of a world populated by anthropomorphous animals, in which, thanks to progress, herbivores, and carnivores are able to coexist in a precarious balance where sometimes ignorance and prejudice are the masters. This story takes place in the prestigious high School Cherryton, shaken by a terrible tragedy: the gruesome murder of one of the students, the alpaca Tem, which will put a strain on the balance within the company. And as the investigation continues, school, suspicion falls on the wolf Legoshi, predator by nature. But nature knows how to surprise, and that genetics has made it known as one of the carnivores most lethal of history, is actually a sensitive soul, and attentive, as well as great empathy and a strong sensitivity towards one's neighbour. In an attempt to shed light on the murder and get justice, Legoshi will know better her schoolmates and the hidden insecurities that them cling to it.
