Assassin's Creed Valhalla: cross-gen nature will limit graphics, says Digital Foundry
Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be a cross-gen title, and this characteristic will end up limiting the graphic quality of the game: Digital Foundry explains it in a first technical analysis.

After having tried Assassin's Creed Valhalla on PC, the editorial team of the English magazine highlighted the strengths and weaknesses of the current build, which ran at 1080p on the configuration made available by the developers.

The problem is not so much on the optimization front, which is still in a preliminary phase as much as in the lack of advanced effects (ray tracing is not present at the moment) which suggests precisely a cross-gen brake.

Making a parallel with Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Digital Foundry has imagined for this new episode improvements on the resolution front, which will probably arrive at real 4K on the Xbox Series X and PS5, and a stable frame rate.

However, the possible the game will run at 60 fps on the new consoles, while for a substantial step forward on the technical front we will probably have to wait for the next chapter.
