PEC: 19 managers, 11 million mailboxes
The updated numbers relating to the world of certified e-mails have been published by AgIG, an agency that performs functions of verification and control over the activities of the 19 accredited managers for the provision of this type of service. To date, the active PEC managers are as follows:Actalis Aruba Cedacri National Council of Notaries IN.TE.SA. Infocert Innova Puglia Irideos ITnet Namirial Notartel Poste Italiane Region Basilicata Region Marche Register Sogei Telecom Italia Trust Technologies TWT University of Naples Federico II The PEC is used by citizens, businesses, professionals and public administrations in various areas: from legal to health and banking. [...] In 2017, Italian legislation established that the PEC must evolve, from a technological point of view, to comply with the eIDAS Regulation. The goal is to enable this tool to verify the identity of the sender, not only to certify the channel and message transmission. In Italy, the main suppliers are collaborating with AgID through various working groups with the common goal of guaranteeing an evolution, at a technological and regulatory level, of this essential tool for citizens' digital communications.
The numbers provided by the AgID does not bear witness only to the gait of a tool that a little at a time began to become common use, but depict also the performance of the digital transformation of the companies and their relationship with the irs, with the PA and with all those procedures that, thanks to the certified mail (the equivalent to any kind of recommended) to become transmissions comfortable, fast and such as to enable significant cost savings.
