Xbox Store is evolving: support for mods for PC games is coming soon
To want to listen to the rumors collected by the participants in the Xbox Insider program, the official Xbox application would therefore be about to welcome an important update that will introduce support for mods for titles downloaded through the Xbox Store.
The opening to the immense work done by fans through amateur patches and fan made content packages, however, will entail a whole series of "dangers" for the end user, as illustrated by the house of Redmond in the disclaimer, integrated in the new version of the Xbox app, which will remind users of the risks they might face by enabling mod support. The inability to certify the origin of amateur content packages, in fact, can expose your PC to the danger of being infected with viruses or trojans, and this without mentioning the problem of any incompatibility with "official" updates.
At the time of writing, the only video game reported by users with support for mods via the Xbox Store is the strategic sci-fi Into the Breach, but it is not excluded that, for the release of the official update of the Xbox app on Windows 10, this functionality is also extended to other titles, including games that can be used "for free" by Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
