According to the author of Xbox Wire, therefore, the Smart Delivery system will not only manage the free graphic updates between the crossgen video games of the Xbox Game Studios and several third-party titles (such as Assassin's Creed Valhalla) but it will also provide full and native support for the cross save between the current and the next generation of green-cross consoles.

Smart system integration Delivery and unified management of bailouts in the Xbox ecosystem will thus allow players to easily switch between Xbox One and Xbox Series X or vice versa, as in the case of a family that decides to keep both consoles in two different locations. On the other hand, cross save is already accessible to Xbox One owners who are participating in the beta testing phase of Project xCloud.
