PD against 5 Stars: debate on the 4 million fund for the development of video games

In recent days, the political debate between the 5 Star Movement and PD has also involved the world of video games and, specifically, there has been a clash between the two parties on the fund of 4 million euros to be allocated to small Italian software houses, or the First Playable Fund.

Marianna Madia of the Democratic Party has in fact taken sides against the fund wanted by the Undersecretary of the Grillino party Mirella Liuzzi. At the moment a decision has not yet been made, but it is clear that if this small figure were to be cut, Italy would risk falling further behind in the field of video game development, where other countries are investing significantly higher figures. . We have recently seen how Germany has allocated 50 million euros for video game startups, whereas Poland has invested "only" 30.

We remind you that the small companies that join the First Playable Fund are able to ask for a figure between 10,000 and 200,000 euros, or 50% of the expenses necessary to pass the design and pre-production phases, useful for creating a prototype of the video game or application.

Speaking of politics and the gaming world, we remind you that just a few days ago the former minister Calenda returned to attack "electronic games".
